Starting the Sentinel Appliance in AWS

When you first launch an instance in AWS, you will need to select a configuration (Amazon calls this an Amazon Machine Image, or AMI). (Please see the Amazon EC2 User Guide that’s appropriate for your OS for details.) Configuration requirements are given here.

You will need to open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/, select the region for the instance, choose "Launch Instance", and on the Choose an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) page select the type of AMI you need. (Be sure the Root device type and Virtualization type are appropriate for your needs, as well as the configuration.)

Launch the instance into the appropriate VPC.
